First and foremost, I’m proud to announce the launch of our “give away beta.”  By being in beta, only means I haven’t quite figured out the frequency of which the give away event should happen. After all this site is still very new and I haven’t quite established a stronghold on the internet yet – but I’m well on my way.   So there’s things you should know about the give away….

• I’m giving stuff away that I have previously purchased or will purchase upon the beginning of the event.  I don’t have ‘sponsors’ yet to sponsor anything – this is all out of pocket for me.  So since I’m still up and coming, this is something I want to do.  I like making other people happy.
• The way the give away will work is you must REGISTER here at DealIRC and make at least two comments on any given posts.  This ensures you have read, and understand the site, and are willing to further participate in this regard.
• I’ll create a script which chooses a user at random. I’ll personally verify user is registered, validated, and has met post requirements. Followed by that, I will send an email to the address specified with the account to ensure you’re human and are alive. Upon your response, I’ll send yet another email detailing the give away and confirming you’re interested – if you’re not PASS on it so someone else can use it – and asking for shipping information.  I will then notify you when item has shipped and provide tracking, if any.
• The “prize” that is up for grabs will be announced on a static give-away page that will be created in a day or two.
• You MUST BE A US RESIDENT with a US MAILING ADDRESS!!!

So as great as that sounds, I have a few more things I would like  to announce.   Given it’s February, the month of love and fattening chocolates…I’ve also been reminded that the American Heart Association honors this month in helping prevent heart disease and stroke.  So with their diligent commitment to better the health and lives of many, many Americans… I’ve decided in their honor, as well as yours, that  I will donate a complete 5% of commission I  earn this entire month to them in hopes of helping continue the efforts to better everyone.

Finally, I went to personally extend my hand in appreciation to all of those who have visited this site and have found use for it. With the give away and the donation commitment, I want to let everyone know that even in extreme economical distress that even the little guys can offer so, so much.  So instead of being some ‘corporate fat cat’, which I am not, I will continue my commitment to reinvest into this great, great county in which I live in, in hopes that some day our children’s children are able to live strong, healthy lives.

Anyways, I’ve been working really diligently to add some really cool features to the site. So in doing so, I’ve been brain storming ideas focusing on a ‘community’ rather than just fly by visitors. If I were to ever achieve anything from this I would want it to be great praise and new friendship and that’s where my attention is of now.

So, what I hope to be a short while, I plan to release a forum where users are free to roam. I’m still having some thoughts of what to add there, but I think a start will be a Deal Request thread where users are able to request deals. Not only does this allow you a place to find what you’re looking for more easily, but better helps me understand shopping trends and demographics.

Secondly. I plan to initiate a bi-weekly/monthly “I’m cleaning out my house and giving you my garbage” give away. I won’t go in too much detail about that at this time, but be sure to check up on announcements.

Thirdly, I want elaborate on the name of this website. Deal + IRC. Deal is pretty self explanatory so I’ll move along to the IRC part. IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat. It’s a client/server setup allowing users to to chat to each other by connecting their favorite client(mIRC for example) to an IRC server. I’ve been on various IRC networks now for almost 10 years. (shocking realization that I’m getting freaking old…). I’ve met a lot of talented and genuine people there and I think it’d be cool to have a community there as well. The thing I’m planning on doing is rigging up a bot to post deals to a specific channel on said network, making it even more convenient for you humans.

Again, be sure to keep an eye out for announcements and requests. If all goes as I hope it will, I’ll be looking for forum moderators and perhaps IRC operators.
